Deputy Head of the Flight Department (m/f/d)

Do you have a background in the travel industry and are you looking for a new challenge at a leading tour operator? As the point of contact for all flight-related matters, do you possess an analytical mindset that allows you to facilitate a wide variety of travel destinations for our customers in collaboration with colleagues from Flight Scheduling and Product? Your responsibilities as Deputy Head of the Flight Department (m/f/d)
- Close collaboration with the Flight Department management on key technical issues and departmental organization, as well as the further development of the department and its processes
- Active involvement in flight procurement, including reviewing contracts for negotiated and purchased flight quotas
- Ensuring availability during the marketing phase and, if necessary, purchasing additional quotas
- Analyzing flight options and preparing price comparisons for coordination with Product Procurement
- Assessing prices and quotas for the trips under your responsibility (long-haul trips / cruises)
- Preparing flight schedules for product management to calculate trip costs
- Conducting strategic negotiations with designated airlines, including renegotiating contract terms as needed
- Coordinating with flight operations regarding negotiated contract terms such as quotas, prices, ticketing requirements, etc.
Your Profile as Deputy Head of the Flight Department (m/f/d)
- Qualified training in tourism or business, e.g., as a travel agent (m/f/d), tourism specialist (m/f/d), or similar
- Relevant professional experience in a comparable position in the aviation sector / flight procurement
- Management experience in a comparable position
- Ideally, a strong professional network within the tourism industry and existing contacts with airlines
- Enjoyment of networking and establishing new professional contacts
- Proficiency with Amadeus
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite, particularly Excel
- Very good German and business-level English
