Guest Information for the Hörnum Tourist Service

Tourismus-Service Hörnum is looking for a dedicated member of staff (m/f/d) to join its team in the guest information department, in particular to staff the guest counter.
Tourismus-Service Hörnum (TSH) is a company owned by the municipality of Hörnum. The TSH is responsible for marketing the town and provides the tourist infrastructure that Hörnum offers its guests. This includes the operation of a campsite, the rental of beach chairs, beach surveillance by lifeguards, information and advice for guests, the organization of festivals and events as well as the maintenance of the beaches and beach crossings.
Description of the main areas of responsibility:
- Providing friendly and courteous advice and information to guests on tourist offers, events, places of interest and local conditions
- Booking and selling tourist products, such as tickets for events or lighthouse tours
- Creation and sale of guest cards, annual guest cards and resident cards
- Settlement of tourism and spa taxes
- Maintenance and updating of master data
- Cash register administration
- General office work
- Operational support, e.g. participation in tourist events organized by the Hörnum Tourist Service
We are looking for:
- Proven experience in a similar position in a tourism information center or in the hotel and hospitality industry or general experience in the tourism or service industry
- Good IT skills and a willingness to familiarize yourself with industry-specific software
- Very good communication skills in German
- Passion for the tourism industry and enjoy working with people
- A friendly and courteous manner towards our guests
- Team-oriented way of working and organizational skills
- A strong understanding of guests’ needs and the ability to provide first-class customer service
We offer you:
- Working in a small, friendly, service-oriented team with varied tasks and direct contact with guests and residents of Hörnum
- Support in finding accommodation in the municipality of Hörnum or on the island of Sylt
- Flexible working time models possible
- Remuneration according to the collective agreement for the public service up to EG 6
- Annual special payment according to TVöD
- Island allowance of €100 per month
