About Hurtigruten

Hurtigruten is a Norwegian shipping and travel company that sails the legendary coastal route between Kirkenes and Bergen, often referred to as "the most beautiful sea voyage in the world". In addition to the traditional route, Hurtigruten also offers special routes such as the North Cape Line, the Svalbard Line and Hamburg-North Cape with a fleet of ten ships.

Since its foundation in 1893, Hurtigruten has safely transported passengers, important goods, vehicles and tourists to 34 ports along the Norwegian coast.

With 1,500 seafarers and apprentices on board, Hurtigruten is one of Norway's largest maritime employers. The company works with local suppliers to serve its guests first-class local cuisine and offers them carefully selected excursions in cooperation with local operators.

Environmental responsibility and sustainability are of central importance to Hurtigruten. In 2009, the company stopped using heavy fuel oil and the fleet now comprises four hybrid ships. The aim is to launch a zero-emission ship by 2030 as part of the ambitious Sea Zero program.
