Travel Trade Manager -
Germany, Austria & Switzerland

(parental leave replacement)

Tasks and responsibilities:

Do you have Denmark at heart and want to help strengthen Denmark's position in the German, Austrian and Swiss travel market? As Travel Trade Manager at VisitDenmark, you will play a central role in developing and strengthening cooperation with the travel industry in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

You will be part of an international and dynamic working environment where new trends, market knowledge and partnerships shape our work and contribute to attracting even more guests to Denmark as a travel destination.

VisitDenmark works to strengthen Denmark's position as an attractive travel destination - for leisure travelers as well as for business and conference tourists. We position and market Denmark internationally in close cooperation with public and private partners to create growth in the Danish tourism sector.

Working in our centrally located office in Hamburg, together with eight dedicated colleagues, you will play an important role in getting travelers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland excited about Denmark - through targeted cooperation with tour operators, travel agencies as well as Danish destinations and commercial partners.

We are looking for a proactive personality who would like to help shape this exciting task. The position is a parental leave replacement and is initially limited until 31.08.2027 .

Your main tasks include:

  • Implementing the travel trade strategy to strengthen Denmark's attractiveness in the travel industry in Germany, Austria and Switzerland - including budget responsibility
  • Participation in the strategy and planning work for 2027 in all three markets
  • Proactively approaching and building relationships with tour operators, travel agencies and potential partners and developing new collaborations to increase Denmark's visibility
  • Active involvement in market development in Austria and Switzerland, which are still comparatively new markets for VisitDenmark
  • Project management of participation in ITB Berlin, including tendering processes, stand development and trade fair implementation together with Danish and Nordic partners
  • Planning and implementation of workshops and activities for the travel industry in cooperation with the Travel Trade team and Nordic partners

Your profile:

We assume that you have at least three years of experience in Travel Trade - ideally from positions where you have worked closely with tourism stakeholders or international partners.

You have a sound knowledge of the German market and German culture and ideally an insight into Danish or Scandinavian conditions. In addition, you speak German and English at a high level. Knowledge of Danish or another Scandinavian language is an advantage.

You have a relevant education in tourism or marketing.

You work independently and in a structured manner - even with routine tasks - and at the same time feel comfortable in a varied working day.

We are looking for an energetic and dynamic personality who is comfortable working in an international environment with many partners and activities across different markets. You can maintain an overview even at high speed and always deal with colleagues and external partners in a professional and open manner.

In addition, we would like you to:

  • have strong team and communication skills and be able to actively build and maintain relationships
  • Have a good understanding of the industry and the dynamics and needs of tour operators
  • Have experience in monitoring market trends, participating in industry events and conducting market analysis
  • Can drive projects forward independently and coordinate across departments and countries
  • Maintain an overview and be able to coordinate several partners simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Have a high level of motivation and quality standards to achieve strong results
  • Have an interest in digital tools and new trends

We offer:

We place great importance on creating a modern, flexible and inclusive working environment with high job satisfaction. We place high demands on professional and personal qualifications and in return offer a lot of personal responsibility, creative freedom and good development opportunities.

We are professional and ambitious, but at the same time open and uncomplicated. You will be part of a team of around 100 dedicated colleagues at our headquarters in Copenhagen and in our international offices, working together to promote growth and jobs in tourism throughout Denmark.

You will have the opportunity to get to know our partners locally - with around 40 travel days per year at workshops, meetings and trade fairs.

Your primary place of work will be our German market office in the center of Hamburg, where you will be welcomed by eight dedicated colleagues. Your salary will be agreed individually according to your qualifications.

In addition, we offer numerous other benefits such as structured onboarding, flexible working conditions, modern office equipment, fruit offers and free drinks.

Application:

We are looking for you for 01.06.2026. Please send your application and CV by 15.04.2026 at the latest via the button "Søg stillingen/Apply now".
