PR Manager DACH

Hamburg | Hybrid

Hurtigruten, established in 1893, is a Norwegian adventure cruise company renowned for its unique original coastal voyages along the stunning Norwegian coastline and beyond. With a legacy spanning over a century, Hurtigruten offers authentic and immersive experiences, showcasing the natural beauty and cultural richness of the destinations it visits.

With a fleet of modern and environmentally conscious ships, including two dedicated vessels for Svalbard and North Cape sailings, Hurtigruten combines adventure with sustainability, offering travelers to live the legend of Norway while aiming to minimizing their impact on the environment and maximizing value creation for local communities and partners.

Localized at Hurtigruten's headquarters in Oslo, Norway, the global PR & Communications and Public Affairs team manages and coordinates all unpaid communication efforts. With a presence established in all of Hurtigruten's key markets, we are currently seeking a German-speaking PR & communications expert with a passion for contributing to an even stronger footprint for our internationally iconic brand in the German-speaking markets.

As the PR Manager for the German-speaking market, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategic public relations initiatives to bolster our brand's presence and reputation in the region. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, you'll develop and implement effective communication strategies that align with our global objectives. Your responsibilities will include crafting compelling messaging, coordinating media relations, and monitoring industry trends to ensure our brand remains at the forefront of the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing PR Strategies: Create comprehensive PR strategies tailored to the German-speaking market, aligned with the company's overall objectives and brand identity.
  • Media Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland to secure positive coverage and media opportunities.
  • Content Creation: Produce compelling press releases, articles, blog posts, and other written materials in German to communicate key messages and promote the company's initiatives, products, and achievements.
  • Press Trips and Event Management: Plan and execute press trips, PR events, press conferences, trade shows, and other promotional activities in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
  • Crisis Communication: Be part of Hurtigruten’s crisis management and communications organization, and effectively manage and mitigate reputational risks, providing timely responses to potential issues or crises in the German-speaking market.
  • Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor media coverage and industry trends in the German-speaking market, analyzing results and metrics to measure the impact of PR efforts and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Sales, and Product Development, and other Hurtigruten stakeholders with communication expertise to ensure alignment of PR activities with overall business objectives.
  • Budget Management: Manage the PR budget for the German-speaking market, allocating resources effectively and tracking expenses to maximize ROI.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate PR initiatives, results, and recommendations to senior management and other key stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports on PR activities and outcomes.

You will hold responsibility for day-to-day management and coordination of external agency resources. You will proactively build and maintain a global network of journalists and influencers.
