Director of Hotel Procurement / Director of Hotel Contracting / VP of Hotel Contracting (m/f/d)
Your Challenge
You will be responsible for sourcing our hotel room allocations in all destinations assigned to you. In this role, you will report directly to senior management and lead a team of hotel buyers and hotel purchasing assistants. You will be responsible for both the strategic direction of hotel purchasing and the operational management of your department.
Your Area of Responsibility
- Strategic and operational responsibility for the hotel procurement division, including the disciplinary and professional leadership of a team of more than 20 employees
- Procurement planning by destination: destination and competitive analysis, price and product positioning, and capacity planning
- Negotiating rates, quota models, release deadlines, and terms with hotel partners, as well as finalizing contracts (in some cases in consultation with senior management)
- Responsibility for catalog tenders and cost calculations for the target regions under your purview
- Monitoring occupancy rates and price comparisons with competitors, as well as ensuring bookability
- Management of guarantee and occupancy risks
- Quality assurance in the target regions and management of the hotel portfolio, taking into account margin, quality, and occupancy
- Close coordination with product management, sales, and executive management to ensure a competitive and profitable offering
- Further development of procurement processes and standards for collaboration with hotel partners
- Direct point of contact for local DMCs
Your Qualifications
- Completed vocational training in tourism or a degree in business administration or tourism
- Several years of relevant management experience in hotel procurement
- Extensive knowledge of the tourism market and a thorough understanding of relevant destination areas and hotel markets
- Strong business acumen and confidence in using key performance indicators to manage margins and occupancy rates
- An experienced, assertive leader with the ability to provide direction even across team leadership levels
- Entrepreneurial mindset and approach, along with a clear strategic focus
- Ability to handle pressure, assertiveness, and a structured approach to work
- Willingness to travel
- Business-level proficiency in English; knowledge of other foreign languages is a plus
