Poseidon Expeditions, founded in 1999 and with offices around the world, is one of the leading providers of expedition cruises to the Arctic and Antarctica. Poseidon Expeditions is not only a member of the renowned organizations IAATO (International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators), AECO (Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators), Polar Bear International, and the WWF (World Wildlife Fund), but also provides passengers on board with information—including on environmental issues in polar waters—from qualified German- and English-speaking lecturers. To strengthen our fantastic team at our office, conveniently located at Hamburg’s Fish Market, we are seeking, to start as soon as possible, a:
Travel and Tourism Specialist (m/f/d)
Your Profile:
- Completed training as a travel agent or tourism specialist, or a comparable qualification
- At least 3 years of professional experience in a travel agency is a plus
- Good knowledge of common booking and reservation systems (e.g., Cockpit, AER, or comparable systems)
- Enjoyment of sales and advising customers
- Friendly, service-oriented, and confident demeanor
- Ability to work independently, reliability, resilience, and flexibility
- Very good written and spoken German and good written and spoken English.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with our international team
- Proficiency with MS Office products
Your Responsibilities:
- Providing expert advice to our customers on additional travel services and individual travel requests
- Booking and arranging additional services such as transfers, insurance, seat reservations, and shore excursions
- Providing sales advice and independently preparing quotes for our customers via phone and email
- Customer support, handling correspondence, and processing customer bookings
- Maintaining contact with relevant service providers and booking additional services (e.g., hotels, transfers)
- Designing and further developing the Poseidon Expeditions portfolio
- Sales promotion activities, trade show appearances, client events, and presentations
- Active participation in the entire sales and after-sales process
- Support for sales promotion initiatives and marketing campaigns
