Your tasks:

You will represent the field of business administration with a focus on tourism, hotels, gastronomy and service management in teaching and application-oriented research. You will combine sound business fundamentals with current challenges from business and society, particularly in the areas of digitalization, internationalization and sustainability. You will design and be responsible for courses with a high degree of practical relevance and use innovative teaching and learning formats, such as project-based learning, digital teaching formats and international collaborations. In addition to teaching, particularly in the fields of business tourism, hospitality and gastronomy, you will actively participate in the further development of the university within the framework of academic self-administration. You will also be involved in cooperative research, transfer and development activities with dual partners and other practice partners.

Your profile:

You have successfully completed a university degree in business administration, economics, industrial engineering, business informatics or a comparable field and have a doctorate. You have in-depth knowledge of current digital technologies, data-based business models and service-oriented value creation structures. Ideally, you have relevant practical experience with management responsibility in the tourism, hotel, catering or service management sectors. You have a very good command of written and spoken English to be able to teach and communicate confidently in an international academic environment. International project, teaching or cooperation experience is an advantage. Experience in application-oriented research, for example in the context of consulting projects, acquisition of third-party funding or cooperation with practice partners, is desirable. The willingness to publish in scientific or practice-oriented specialist media also underlines your profile. You enjoy supporting students both professionally and personally and ideally already have experience in university teaching and in the use of innovative and digital teaching formats. You are characterized by the ability to work in a team, interdisciplinary thinking and the willingness to take on responsibility in the development of degree programs and the university.

In accordance with § 47 LHG, a university degree, special academic qualifications (usually a doctorate), pedagogical aptitude and at least five years of practical professional experience, including at least three years outside the university sector, are required. The applicant must also be willing to participate in academic development, in particular through research and continuing academic education. A particular degree of commitment, willingness to cooperate with the companies and institutions involved and a willingness to work on committees are expected.

If the relevant requirements are met, the position will be filled as a probationary civil servant, otherwise as a permanent employee. As a rule, you can be taken on as a professor for life after three years of probationary service as a civil servant.
