ASI Reisen is one ofthe world’sleading platforms for sustainable active and adventure travel: a family-owned business since 1963, with about 70 people at the ASI Nest, 400 guides, and trips to over 100 countries. We are now making targeted investments in the further expansion of our indirect sales. To this end, we’re looking for an entrepreneurial individual who won’t just manage this area, but will shape it personally, hands-on, and with full authority. We look forward to receiving your application!
Your Mission:
You will be responsible for all of ASI Reisen’s indirect sales —across all B2B channels: brick-and-mortar travel agency sales (partnerships, counters), white-label production for other tour operators, and sales via online marketplaces/OTAs.
The focus is on the travel agency channel: For long-haul and adventure trips that require detailed explanation, the travel agency counter is a key sales channel with great potential. You will strategically expand this channel while simultaneously developing the other B2B channels into a manageable portfolio.
For the foreseeable future , this is an independent, creative role with a great deal of autonomy: You combine strategy and execution in one person and roll up your sleeves to get things done. The role is anchored in Customer Success, responsible for service and inbound sales, and reports to our Head of Customer Success.
Gross annual salary starting at €60,000.00, depending on qualifications and professional experience—including a performance-based component
Your Responsibilities in Detail
Channel Strategy & Portfolio
- Responsibility for the entire B2B channel portfolio, consistently prioritized based on contribution margin and net new customers
- Clear guiding principle: Indirect sales primarily target customers who do not book directly on their own—it does not cannibalize the high-margin direct business
Travel Agency & Partnership Sales (Priority)
- Expansion of brick-and-mortar sales across all relevant chains and partnerships (QTA, DER Touristik/DTPS, BEST, Schmetterling, TUI, LCC, etc.)—negotiate listings, commissions, and visibility
- Engage the chains’ sales managers to ensure ASI is actively promoted at the counter
- Empowering travel agencies: training, battlecards, incentives, consistent availability
Additional B2B Channels
- Expand and manage white-label production for other tour operators and OTA/marketplace distribution (e.g., TourRadar)
- Clear pricing, margin, and brand protection rules for each channel instead of opportunistic individual deals
System Integration
- Work with Tech/Ops to drive and maintain technical integration with travel agencies’ sales systems—as the requester and maintainer, not as the developer
- Ensure easy bookability and streamlined booking and billing processes as a prerequisite
Management & Economics
- Design a commission and terms structure in line with market standards (including benchmarks, without retroactive commission reductions)
- KPI Management: Channel mix in bookings, agency activation, new customer rate, customer lifetime value (CLV) per channel
- Price and discount discipline across all channels
Your Profile
- A robust, actionable network spanning all major travel agency chains and organizations, as well as a broad network of agencies with direct points of contact. Not just general “industry knowledge,” but specific contacts you’ll reach out to within the first 90 days
- Hands-on mindset: You’ll initially shape this area independently—from customer acquisition at the counter to closing deals at the negotiating table
- At least 5–7 years of experience in B2B/partner sales in the travel industry (tour operator, partnership, or platform), with a proven track record of closing deals
- Understanding of the sales system landscape (CRS/Mid-Office, TOMA/Sabre, Peakwork, PaxConnect)—you don’t need to develop these systems, but you must know how they work
- Thorough knowledge of commission and margin economics
- Experience with multiple B2B channels (not just travel agencies) is a plus: white label, OTA
- Strong at closing deals and clear in communication—both with partners and internally
- Fluent in German, willing to travel frequently
